| Notes: | This is a beautiful piece of banded tiger iron consisting of tight reflexed curved bands of tiger eye set between hard ironstone and jasper. This is a unique material sourced wholly from remote north Western Australia. It does come in quite large specimens and slabs but here I've chosed a particularly nice bent and recurved tight pattern as a lens shaped cab that wil make a beautiful pendant or cuff, Great care must be taken to cut and orientate the chatoyant bands of tiger eye for the most brilliance and hine. It is a very very messy stone to work on a lapidary machine due to the ironstone/haematite red "mud" in he grinding tray and on the wheels. Equipment needs a lot of cleaning if one dares to cut and polish these cabs. But the extra effort is worth it in the result you see here, in my humble opinion. Some of this material (as here) is extra dense and takes a great polish all over....but I always offer the best material possible. a special discount is applied for a limited time to celebrate the website launch. |
