Notes:	This collector cabochon I cut from one of several small slabs that came to me via a friend who bought an old collection from a gemstome (chrysoprase) lapidary business near Rochhampton on the Central Queensland coast near Marlborough.. The business had closed about 45 years ago with the machines and material sitting in the back of an old shed for 30+ years or so. This material, with the citron ( nickel stained silicified magnesium carbonate) attached to the translucent chrysoprase is quite uncommon when there are no pits in the citron or at the contact junction area. So, I was very pleased to cut this collector gem. The chrysoprase shows distinct layers in the translucenct and green colour density with a clearer layer next to the layer where the chrysoprase appears to mix with the citron. Although this material more commonly occurs in the high grade Western Australian (closed decaded ago) chrysoprase deposits it also does occur at Marlborough...both areas are known for remarkably stable chrysoprase and both areas produced top gem quality material. This gem has a large surface area for it's actual weight. Priced for website opening for a short time at a substantial discount.
