| Notes: | This is a large competition cabochon of top quality (picture) spiderweb rhodonite from the famous Tamworth mines in north_east NSW Australia. I visited one of the two mines being worked by the miner many years ago. These mines set in a rugged area are now closed and the old owner passed on. The mines were famous for the royal red gem rhodonite (almost all went overseas to Asian buyers) and famous also for the beautifully patterned rich pink spiderweb rhodonite. There is a sister cab to the one offered here but this distinctive pink without other mineral inclusions is rare. This is a beautiful unique cabochon.
